How to Cook Yellow Split Peas

1 Cup Dry Yellow Split Peas

3 Cups Water

Rinse the split peas, add 3 cups water to a pot, bring water to a rolling boil. Add peas then simmer for 20-30 minutes or until desired tenderness. Drain well.

Came super quick and was

"Came super quick and was extremely well wrapped! Wonderful clean peas of consistent size and intact splits- not broken pieces. Wonderful buttery taste. So far used in Yellow Split Pea Dahl, it came out great. Because the Dahl calls for a shorter cook time of 30-40 minutes, I found that to get the desired softer consistency that I needed to soak the peas first (quick method worked for me-boil then sit for hour, drain then proceed with recipe). When I next use them in a soup (most likely split pea with ham) I will not soak since the cook time is longer 2-3 hours to get the creamy emulsified consistency that we like. I do look forward to trying the other products offered and highly recommend these delicious peas!"
